Welcome to ERGO Clastics
ERGO (Environments, Reservoirs, Geometries and Objects) is a suite of online products which provide easy and quick access to rich geological information and quantitative geometric reservoir analogue data for understanding and scaling reservoir architecture.
ERGO consists of two key components:
- Knowledgebase of depositional environments, reservoir geology, and reservoir modelling.
- Database of quantitative geometric reservoir analogue data which can be filtered by specific geological setting and reservoir environment.
ERGO has been designed to help users construct more geologically realistic static reservoir models, and is compatible with a variety of processes in all major reservoir modelling platforms including Petrel, RMS and GoCAD.
Data included in the analogue database is coherently synthesised and interpreted from the public domain, unique Fugro Robertson datasets, and key data acquisitions. Content within the knowledgebase is written by Fugro Robertson senior geoscientists, and reviewed and contributed to by renowned external experts.
Key Benefits
| Development | Exploration | Training |
| Eliminate guesswork and reduce time and uncertainly in generating more geologically realistic facies models using a massive database of quantitative analogue data | First-pass indication of reservoir scale and range of dimensions for specific geological settings | Improved understanding of depositional environments, reservoir geology, and reservoir modelling |
| Prediction of 2D/3D geobody dimensions and reservoir architecture based on well data | Understanding geobody scale and adjacency for facies mapping | Promotion of most geologically reasonable modelling practices |
| Validation and QC of existing geological interpretations and reservoir models | Indication of possible geological settings and drainage basin characteristics based on geobody dimensions | Information tailored for different disciplines and levels of technical expertise allowing standardisation of terminology and understanding |
| Access to an extensive library of geological training images for input into multipoint statistics (MPS) modelling processes (In Development) | Content is fully searchable or can be navigated through a defined logical structure |
Getting Started
The ERGO database is built around a series of attributes and filters which allow the most appropriate analogue data to be selected for a given scenario. After defining a specific geological setting based on these attributes and filters, the user can review the data and statistics using a series of charts and tools, and finally download the dataset for direct input or further analysis.
The ERGO wiki is easy to navigate, with content ordered logically by depositional environment and topic. Searches can be conducted or the page list consulted to find information on a specific topic.
Documentation is provided to help users understand the tools, filters, attributes and parameters available in the database, as well as some of the methodologies and data sources used to collect and catalogue the data.
If you are not an ERGO subscriber, please contact us to arrange a presentation, demonstration and subscription.
